Let's get together online this year!
WE HAVE THIS HOPE AS AN ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL, FIRM AND SECURE.
We will miss having breakfast together this year!
As an alternative, the Delta Leadership Prayer Breakfast has gone virtual (without the breakfast, of course).
We invite you to "click and watch" as we are presenting a unique opportunity to hear the personal testimony of a very SPECIAL GUEST, who serves as a medical doctor on the front lines around the world, bringing HOPE to the hurting through his faith in Jesus.
Dr. Elliott Tenpenny serves as the Director of the International Health Unit for Samaritan’s Purse. Dr. Tenpenny is a native of Tennessee, and received his postgraduate medical doctorate at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. He subsequently completed residency and served as chief resident in Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Following training, Dr. Tenpenny was part of the post-residency program with World Medical Mission, serving overseas for two years. During this program he trained in surgery at CME Nyankunde Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo and then served at Pioneer Christian Hospital in the Republic of Congo.
He now works to develop and maintain the emergency medical response readiness of the International Disaster Response Unit, including the management of the Emergency Field Hospital. Recently, in response to COVID-19, he served as the Emergency Field Hospital Director in New York City and California. Dr. Tenpenny also served in this role in the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian; Mosul, Iraq during the battle for Mosul; and Ecuador after the 2016 earthquake. Additionally, he was the area coordinator and cholera treatment center manager in Haiti after Hurricane Matthew and managed the Samaritan’s Purse Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo in January 2019.

Since we met together last year on February 29, 2020, the world has fallen into challenging and unprecedented times. COVID-19 has affected every person and every community on earth, with no exception. We have all experienced some form of loss, grief, financial hardship, loneliness and burden. Again, there are no exceptions. Through it all, we long for HOPE. Join us as we listen to Dr. Tenpenny who relies on his HOPE in Jesus in everything he does.
Thank you, Dr. Tenpenny, for taking the time to share your experience and heart with us.
We would also like to thank Ryan Choi from South Delta Baptist church for creating this video presentation, Pastor Cory Anderson from the Tsawwassen Alliance Church for leading us as we join together in prayer, and the Delta Christian School choir for their beautiful presentation of the Canadian National Anthem and the Doxology.
We hope you will fill up your coffee cup (and maybe have a little breakfast, in the comfort of your own home) and join us for the 47th Annual Delta Leadership Prayer Breakfast - from a distance!
Please continue to pray for those who lead us during these days. Pray for our front-line workers who have carried out the many tasks to sustain our community and society throughout this challenging year. We also ask for prayer for Dr. Tenpenny and his Samaritan's Purse team venturing out, as the hands and feet of Jesus, to care for those in difficult situations.

The first annual Delta Leadership Prayer Breakfast was held in 1974. It is hard to believe we are in our 47th year! We are thankful for our long and consistent history of bringing the people of Delta together to pray for our nation, province and city.
"I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
I Timothy 2: 1-4
The annual Delta Leadership Prayer Breakfast exists to lift up our community and leaders in prayer, to provide a gathering for those who value guidance from God in society, and to promote the inclusion and expression of Christian values in Delta.
